DRIVEN TO PERFORM
A LUXURY SPORTS SEDAN THAT IS ENGINEERED FOR EXHILARATION
A perfect synthesis of form and function, the Lexus IS is engineered for exhilaration. Since its debut in 1999, this exceptional sports sedan has pursued the fun of driving and served as a whetstone for honing drivers’ reflexes. Earning its popularity with high-level driving performance and sporty styling, the latest evolution of the IS lets you rediscover the thrill of driving.
Uncompromising attention to detail has resulted in the most exciting IS yet, and a driving experience that's superb both on and off the track. To strengthen performance, the new IS was thoroughly tested and honed at various locations throughout the world, including the winding country road test course of the new research and development facility in Shimoyama, Japan.
BOLD NEW DESIGN
From an early stage in its development, Lexus team members in product technology, engineering and styling united behind a common vision to achieve the proportions of a four-door coupe, with a low center of gravity and aggressive new form characterized by sharpness.
Provocative By Design
In addition to the slender headlamps, a low center of gravity is expressed through low-positioned areas around the grille, lowered side character lines, and the shape of the trunk. Muscular fenders, straight-line rear combination lamps, and three-dimensional bumper garnishes add to the aggressive look, while the redesigned 19-inch wheels and wide proportions evoke a sense of sporty driving.
From The Driver's Seat
The available two-tone color schemes, including the F Sport-exclusive Flare Red, further accentuate the aggressive styling of the new IS, while the available chromatic colors used in the upper instrument panel create a sharp, contrasting accent.
PERFORMANCE YOU CAN FEEL
Faithful to the driver's intentions, the IS ensures a seamless transition from deceleration to steering and acceleration during cornering. This 'Lexus Driving Signature' is the new development standard for every future Lexus model. In the hybrid electric version, control over acceleration has been updated in pursuit of even sportier driving. The 2.0-liter turbo version features adaptive transmission control that evaluates the driving environment and selects the most appropriate gear.
Lexus is developing safety technologies in the pursuit of one goal: creating an accident-free world. The new IS sees these advancements with the latest Lexus Safety System+ which includes functions such as Emergency Steering Assist and Lane Tracing Assist. These advances are part of Lexus’s continuing efforts to prevent traffic accidents and fatalities, to reduce driver burden, and to develop driver-assist systems that provide a more natural and safer driving experience.
