THE ALL-NEW RZ

Introducing the all-new RZ, Lexus' first globally-available dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) model. In addition to marking Lexus’ transition into a BEV-centered brand, the RZ embodies the unique Lexus vehicle design and driving experience made possible by advanced electrification technology.

The adoption of a new steering control and Steer-by-Wire system, along with the DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system, enables vehicle control that is faithful to the driver’s intention and enhances the uniquely Lexus driving flavor, the "Lexus Driving Signature."

UNIQUE LEXUS DESIGN

The exterior design expresses the seamless acceleration and dynamic torque-filled performance specific to BEVs.

A new spelled out Lexus logo (as first seen on the recently launched NX) resides on the horizontal rear combination lamps. The lowered center portion of the red lens accentuates the logotype and emphasizes a sharp look.

THE "TAZUNA" COCKPIT

The cockpit was designed based on the new concept of "Tazuna", the Japanese word for “rein”. Inspired by the relationship between horse and rider, who communicate through a single rein, steering wheel-mounted switches and the vehicle’s head-up display have been highly coordinated to create a space in which various functions, such as the navigation system, audio system, and driving mode selection, can be performed while allowing the driver to concentrate on driving.

LEXUS STYLING EVOLVED

The iconic spindle grille has evolved into the Lexus spindle body, which focuses on aerodynamic efficiencies, optimized proportions, and style, versus serving the cooling and exhaust needs of an internal combustion engine.

Six exterior colors are also available, including "Ether Metallic," which evokes the nimble driving performance of BEVs, and "Sonic Copper," Lexus’ newest metallic texture.

THE EXHILARATION OF ELECTRIFICATION

The “Lexus Driving Signature is a uniquely Lexus driving experience that provides an exhilarating feel of seamlessly connected deceleration, steering, and acceleration under all driving conditions. By using high-precision motor torque control, as well as optimal battery and motor placement, the RZ takes the Lexus Driving Signature to an even higher level.

DIRECT4

The new DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system and the newly developed high-output eAxle motor continuously control the drive force of the four wheels with high precision.

It works according to the ground contact load of the vehicle regardless of road surface and driving conditions to achieve an exhilarating driving experience in line with the driver's intention.

Steer-By-Wire

A Lexus-first Steer-by-Wire system with advanced steering control has been added as an option to the traditional circular steering wheel to create an enhanced communicative relationship between human and machine.

Steer-by-Wire enables the electronic exchange of steering and road surface information between the advanced steering control and tires via electrical signals, not mechanical linkage.

e-TNGA Dedicated BEV Platform

RZ utilizes a Lexus-first dedicated BEV platform (e-TNGA) to significantly evolve the fundamental performance of the vehicle and provide the exhilarating joy of driving.

The platform offers high levels of stability and ride comfort by mounting the battery under the vehicle floor and features a low center of gravity and moment of inertia. The body is strengthened by reinforcing the radiator support area and adding a V-shaped brace for excellent handling performance.
